In Automatic mode, you make an adaptation by:
Typing an entry into the Phrase box and then pressing Enter or Tab. (You can adapt a single word or make a phrase for adaptation.)
Adapt It places the entry into the knowledge base. Then the Phrase box moves forward seeking the next available empty location or hole. In doing so, it skips over any previously adapted source. At the next hole, Adapt It searches the knowledge base for the source word or phrase.
There are several possible outcomes at this stage:
Adapt It finds only one stored adaptation for the source text.
Adapt It automatically inserts the adaptation into the phrase box and moves the phrase box to the next hole. This process repeats until one of the next two conditions occurs or until it reaches the end of the document.
Adapt It finds more than one possible adaptation.
The application halts the Phrase box and opens the Choose Translation dialog box. This dialog box allows you to select the correct adaptation from among the possible options, or enter a new one. See Using the Choose Translation dialog for more information.
Once you have made your choice, press Enter to resume the automatic process.
If Adapt It finds that the source text is not yet in the knowledge base, it copies the source text into the phrase box and stops.
You can then either type a new adaptation, edit the copied source text or accept the copied text. Press Enter to accept your choice and resume the automatic process.
Adapt It continues the process until it reaches the end of the document.
